Mindful Wednesdays are weekly free workshops organized by the Bhakti Club in order to promote mindfulness and health on Columbia's Campus. Each meeting lasts around an hour and thirty minutes, and it consists of a short introductory themed talk, two meditations sessions and a delicious free vegetarian dinner at the end. The first session is a grounding meditation, including pranayama (yoga breathing exercises) and a silent meditation, while the second session is Mantra Meditation, wherein we recite mantras, special Sanskrit words, while focusing our mind on them. This ancient Yogic practice is a wonderful way for relaxing, experiencing mindfulness and exploring our own inner joy, inner strength, and full human potential. The sessions are completely free, no commitment is required and all are welcome to attend regardless of experience.
