The Columbia Political Union (CPU) is Columbia University's largest and most active political organization. In its unique role as Columbia's only multi-partisan political organization, CPU works with other undergraduate political groups on campus. CPU's mission is to increase political involvement, create a forum for open discussion and debate, and cover campus politics. CPU puts on special events and has hosted speakers such as Howard Dean, John Ashcroft, Al Gore, John McCain, Robert Rubin, Hillary Clinton, Phyllis Schlafley, and Arianna Huffington. CPU is integral in the planning and execution of Columbia Voting Week, organizes polls and campus political coverage, hosts debates among its own general body and between campus political groups, and much more. CPU has many new opportunities to get involved. Visit our social media pages or our website at cupolitics.com, or send and email to cpu@columbia.edu if you have any questions or would like to take on an active role in CPU.
