The Columbia University Energy Symposium (“Energy Symposium”) is the largest student-run energy event in New York City that seeks to bring together energy professionals, students, faculty, leaders, and executives representing industry, government, and society, to explore and advance our insights into today’s challenging energy questions. It is a collaboration between Columbia University’s SIPA Energy Association (SEA), CBS Energy Club, the Green Business Club, Engineering Energy Club, and the Environmental Law Society. (Moreabout us here: http://www.cuenergysymposium.com.) The Energy Symposium is in its 13th year and will be on February 1-2, 2018. Students on the planning committee have unique opportunities to design conference themes and panel topics according to their interests, meet and network with energy sector professionals, and provide other interested students throughout the University with an opportunity to learn and engage on energy topics in a professional conference. It also provides a platform in which Columbia energy students can showcase their skills, knowledge, and expertise to companies and professionals through the case competition, career fair and panels. Our organization is not a typical student organization as we are the planning committee behind this annual event. This past year, our club consisted of 49 student members from four different Columbia schools with each member taking on an aspect of organization or planning (e.g. email marketing chair, sponsorship chair, panel chair, etc.). We are always looking for new members!
