The Hiking Club is a voluntary club sport affiliated with Columbia University. We organize day hikes and camping trips throughout the year, mostly in the New York Tri-State area. Our officers will lead a few hikes per semester--see the Events section of our profile for details--and then members suggest and lead the rest! If you have a hike in mind that you would be interested in, email us! (cuhikingclub@gmail.com). (And if you would be interested in driving for hikes--and are 21+ with a valid license--definitely email us!)

1) Membership
Hiking Club membership is semesterly. Fall and Spring membership are separate! Current sign ups are only for the Fall semester.
To be eligible for hiking club, you must have a Dodge Fitness Center membership. All undergraduate students automatically have this included in their tuition.
To officially join the club, you have to:
◦ Join the Hiking Club via DoSportsEasy (should take about 10mins)
◦ Pay your $40 semesterly dues (see below)
◦ Join the club via lion link (Just click join organization! This is non-binding)
2) Dues
Dues for the Hiking Club are $40 for the semester and $15 per hike. The money from dues goes towards transportation to and from hikes.
Paying your semesterly dues is non-binding--you can go on as many (or few) hikes you like!
3) Hike Sign-Ups
To sign up for a hike, log in to Lionlink and RSVP under the events tab on the Hiking Club page. Each hike should be viewable as an individual event on our event calendar. The hike leader will send out an email to those signed up a couple of days before the hike reminding members where to meet, what to bring, etc. Hikes generally leave at 8am from the Columbia gates at 116th and Amsterdam and return around 6pm. To sign up for hikes you must be a full club member and pay the $10 per hike (link will be sent around via email to participants) before the trip.
