Welcome to the Iota Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Columbia University! Our chapter is a strong, supportive network of women from all around the world with different paths that led us home to Gamma Phi. Sharing our backgrounds, experiences, and knowledge, we are able to build a welcoming community that emphasizes wellness (in all forms), personal development and growth - through projects like committees and leadership opportunities, and aims to be a source of encouragement and empowerment. What identifies an Iota woman is her compassion and drive to make a change, through her passions, to improve her community. Whether this be fighting for changes in K-12 education, canvassing and spreading awareness on voting and policy, or simply using her voice to advocate for those like her, she finds ways to share her passions with her sisters, enriching our personal and chapter education and operation. As the Iota Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta, we strive to inspire the highest standard of womanhood in all our sisters and all those we interact with, in and outside of the Panhellenic community, by upholding our core values of love, labor, learning, and loyalty in everything we do. We believe that as women leading and inspiring the next generation, the best way to do this is by supporting our philanthropic focus to build strong girls alongside our philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a nationwide free program that teaches girls from 3rd-8th grade how to train and run a 5k while learning life-skills like confidence, resiliency, body positivity, and your inner strength. We have the wonderful opportunity to yearly go and cheer on and volunteer with the girls of GOTR NYC at Randall's Island. If you are looking for a home away from home, a strong sisterhood, and numerous opportunities for leadership and connection to women like you, then Gamma Phi Beta may be the place for you. Join us as we continue to make a difference in the lives of women and girls all across the globe.
