Our organization strives to serve Columbia University’s Political Science Department in two ways: 1. Community Building - Finding one’s place within one of Columbia’s largest departments can be a daunting task. We are building a greater network in the Political Science community by connecting the Political Science faculty with its students and by connecting students with their peers. 2. Information and Guidance - Navigating a Political Science track can be difficult. With four possible subfields (International, American, Comparative, and Theory), numerous internship opportunities, and a wide array of career paths, it is hard to know where to begin. PSSA supplements departmental advising by hosting numerous information sessions, panels, and events throughout the year. PSSA is comprised of an Executive Board that governs the General Body. All members of the Political Science community are PSSA General Body Members. While we do not hold regular General Body meetings, we do host numerous events throughout the year (See “Upcoming Events”) Our events are not exclusive to majors or concentrators, but are open to all interested students and faculty.
