There are four specific purposes of AGSA. First, AGSA raises money for graduate students to travel to professional meetings. Second, AGSA serves as an information center for concerns related to anthropology graduate student life, such as curriculum and funding, especially for incoming students. Third, AGSA serves as a liaison between the anthropology graduate students and anthropology faculty. Fourth, AGSA is dedicated to public outreach and education about anthropology.
