The purpose of the Penn State Concrete Canoe is to compete in The American Society of Civil Engineers annual Student Concrete Canoe Competition. The annual competition requires students to design, construct, and race a canoe composed of concrete and reinforcement according to the provided specifications outlined in the official competition rules. The Canoes are judged on design, floatation, presentation, and placement within the races.
