CIGSA was created to build a community among graduate students. Through programming and social events, the organization provides a sense of "a home away from home." A particularly important goal of this organization is to create an environment where the possibility for mentorship exists. As graduate students transition through the course of their programs, we hope that CIGSA will support and mentor emerging scholars in C&I by offering advice and knowhow. We aim to foster a culture in which students feel valued and supported. Additionally, CIGSA challenges members to think critically about their purpose and goals in educational research.
