NOMAS is the student chapter of The National Organization of Minority Architects which on the national website states that they thrive only when voluntary members contribute their time and resources, has as its mission the building of a strong national organization, strong chapters, and strong members for the purpose of minimizing the effect of racism in our profession. The NOMAS Chapter at Penn State has a specific mission to build an inclusive community of diverse students to lead the future of design movements. We strive to do this through professional networking, community advocacy, and equitable design. Our goal is to educate our members to design with ethics, culture, economics, and systemic justice to improve our impact in human kind.
