The Peruvian Student Association was born out of the need to give representation, a voice, to Peruvian Students at Penn State. This organization has three main goals: The primary goal of The Peruvian Student Association is to bring together Peruvian Students, as well as anyone interested in the Peruvian culture, and give them a sense of community, a place in which they can both share their cultures with each other, and transmit it with others. This organization would be a way to represent the body of Peruvian students, and to give a sense of validation to Peruvian traditions outside of Peru. The secondary focus of this organization is expressing, and helping to preserve the Peruvian culture. Through meetings as well as bigger events, the organization aims to educate not only it's members, but any student at Penn State, about the culture, ethics, entertainment, language, gastronomy, sociopolitical events, and history of Peru. Lastly, the organization hopes to help incoming Peruvian students, both graduate and undergraduate, to have a support system, a place to seek help in case of there being difficulties in adjusting to the culture lived in the US.
