A. The main purpose of SAESE is to foster interactions between graduate and undergraduate scientists and engineers engaged in research related to better understanding and/or solving current environmental problems.B. SAESE will host the annual Environmental Chemistry and Microbiology Student Symposium (ECMSS) each spring under sponsorship from various departments and institutions at Penn State. The symposium is aimed at providing a forum for researchers from Penn State and regional educational institutions to present their work to the environmental research community from participating institutions and also the general public.C. SAESE will also host a fall seminar inviting a prominent professor, scientist, or engineer to present their research related to current environmental issues to the Penn State community and the general public.
