Student Auxiliary Officers have a long and distinguished history of working in support of University Police and Public Safety. Founded in 1927, students at University Park have been uniformed and assisting with traffic and security for nearly 100 years! This student-led unit serves to increase a security presence on campus, and it gives students an opportunity to add an incredibly unique position to their resume. While Student Auxiliary Officers are working in a paid position, the Student Auxiliary Support Club seeks to channel a desire to be of service to others in the broader Penn State community. Some goals of the club include: - Hosting speakers who can coach students and answer questions related to law enforcement-related jobs students may be seeking after graduation (federal, state, local positions in a range of agencies and covering everything from computers, forensics, legal, behavioral, investigative, etc) - Operating food and clothing drives to support fellow students in need - Partnering with other clubs on campus - Other activities deemed beneficial for the community Who can or should join? YOU!! If you seek to be the change in the world you want to see, we want you in our club! You don't need to be focused on LEO type jobs, you just need to be someone with compassion, empathy, and a desire to help others. Bring your ideas, bring your passion, and let's do something amazing!
