Bhagat Puran Singh Health Initiative (BPSHI) Clinic is a student run health initiative which seeks to improve the health of under-served and neglected communities, particularly the Sikh and Punjabi community. BPSHI was started as a collaborative effort of several students from UC Davis and Sacramento State who were motivated by Bhagat Puran Singh, a Sikh humanitarian who founded Pingalwara, a home for the disabled in Punjab, India. BPSHI started by performing health clinics at local Gurdwaras. Since then, BPSHI has expanded to include chapters at most major universities in California, and many other universities across the nation.

The UC Davis BPSHI chapter, BPSHI Clinic, serves under-served communities in the Davis/Sacramento area. In addition to holding health screenings, BPSHI Clinic hosts seminars and workshops with medical professionals, assists uninsured individuals in obtaining insurance, provides rides and translation services for patients, and analyzes health trends in the target populations. In response to ever increasing demand and popularity, BPSHI Clinic partnered with Elaaj Clinic in Sacramento, to provide enhanced access to medical professionals and healthcare services for patients that would not be available at the mobile health screenings.

With the help of a dedicated and passionate member base, BPSHI Clinic strives to continue expanding in an effort to perform the highest quality of selfless service (Sewa) for medically under-served populations.
