Who we are: The Agronomy Club consists of members from all backgrounds, majors, and interests. We are a club that meets WEEKLY on Wednesday at 6:00pm that comes together to build community with other students. We are one of the oldest successful clubs on campus. We also are the 2023 College of Agriculture Top Option Club, Farmer Olympics, and Spirit Award Champions. What we do:Our weekly meetings are composed of dinner, business matters, and fun activities. We build community, participate in community service, and develop professional skills that will benefit your personal growth. We also have work session nights once a month in which we make educational supplies to support various educational programs in the Midwest. In addition, we have several professionals in the agronomy industry speak to members about career fair preparation and career tips. Service Projects:Our club loves getting involved in the Purdue and the Greater Lafayette community. We host a booth at the annual Purdue Spring Fest and Purdue Ag Week to educate others the importance of Agronomy. In addition we volunteer at the Ag Alumni Fish Fry, Lafayette Food Finders Food Bank, MESA Adopt-a-Family, and several other events. We also host a 4-H/FFA Soil and Crops Invitationals every fall.National/Regional Meetings:An important part of our club is SASES Undergraduate. We are part of the national body of Students in Agronomy, Soil, and Environmental Sciences (SASES). As part of this society, we are invited to the national meeting in the fall and several regional meetings in the spring. Last fall we traveled to Baltimore, Maryland. This spring we will travel to Kansas State University for the regional meeting. How to Join:Check out one of our meetings! Our weekly meeting is held on Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Lilly 3-418. Check out the schedule for the club that is posted on the second floor of Lilly. If you enjoy the meeting, dues are $27.00 per year. A fair portion of these dues go the national affiliate, SASES. Only $5 goes to our local chapter.
