Cherry Tea Collective is an inclusive group of artists, designers, writers, poets, and all creative minds. Our mission is to promote collaboration among these groups in the production of a yearly charity-focused zine--a mini magazine showcasing art and writing--while fostering a welcoming and creative environment for people of all majors and backgrounds.
Every year, our club starts off by choosing a new charity to determine the theme for our zines, which are printed and ready for sale by spring. We also create unique stickers, charms, and other merchandise related to the theme of the year, with all proceeds from sales going toward our selected charity. Throughout the year, we hold team-bonding events where members can get together to work on their entries together, collaborate, and learn from each other. Members do not have to be contributing to the zine to be a part of our club! Our goal is to be a safe space for anyone needing a creative outlet.
Our previous themes and charities:
2019-2020: the theme was "Earth and nature," and the charity was Earth Day Network
2020-2021: the theme was "the bonds we share with others," and the charity was The Trevor Project 2021-2022: the theme was "dreams and fantasy," and the charity was The Lunchbox Fund
2022-2023: the theme was "oceans," and the charity was The Ocean Cleanup
2023-2024: the theme was "food" and the charity was Sacramento Loaves and Fishes
