The CPU supports competitive programming at Purdue by participating in contests (notably, the ICPC and some Codeforces contests) and discussing solutions. We also host contests such as HammerWars, welcome beginners to the sport, and foster an active online presence.Our members develop problem-solving skills that are invaluable today: not only are they needed to solve complex algorithms/data structures problems often presented in technical interviews, but general strategies recur throughout computer science and mathematics.
