Purdue Contemporary Dance Company is an organization that gives anyone interested in modern/contemporary dance several opportunities to expand their passion for this art form further. Members can learn modern dance via an anatomically based focus, take workshops with well-known choreographers from around the country, and perform in a professionally run concert at the end of the semester. PCDC is a great way to interact with student and faculty artists in a collaborative, creative, and inventive process for creating dance works.The audition for the Purdue Contemporary Dance Company Winter Works Concert will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Pao Hall 1171. Please fill out the audition form, which you can find in the link below, by 4:00 p.m. on August 28. https://www.cla.purdue.edu/academic/rueffschool/dance/performance/index.html Requirements include enrollment in DANC 24500 to receive credit for rehearsing and performing. There are three hours of rehearsal per week and two showings on Saturdays. Rehearsal times are built-in and flexible based on each dancer's schedule. The Purdue Contemporary Dance Company will perform its Winter Works 2024 Dance Concert on December 6 and December 7 at 7:30 p.m. each evening, with a matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. on December 7.
