The Environmental Science Club is a student organization looking to increase the education, awareness, and community involvement of its members in a positive and engaging social setting. In order to accomplish these goals, we engage in three types of activities. The first is educational, consisting of lectures by professors and other field experts as well as discussions between members on crucial environmental concerns ranging from the community to a world scale during regularly scheduled bi-monthly meetings. The second is community project involvement, usually with local land trusts, focused on giving club members hands-on experience with local area restoration and management techniques about once a month. The third activity is a recreational hike or another outdoor outing, like kayaking, open to all ESC members at least one weekend each semester. Popular trips in the past have been Turkey Run State Park and Wildcat Creek for a float! If you have any questions please email the current ESC President, Ismael De Lara, at idelara@purdue.edu .
