The Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF) awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. To be eligible for an Evans Scholarship, candidates must demonstrate a strong caddie record, excellent academics, financial need and outstanding character.Established in 1930 by the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr., the Foundation administers the nation’s largest scholarship program for caddies. For the 2023-24 academic year, a record 1,130 caddies are enrolled at 24 universities nationwide.Living in community is a vital Program component. In each of the Scholarship Houses, students live and work together. Chapters elect their own officers, run social and service activities and participate in campus programs. Each chapter has earned a reputation on its campus for outstanding community service and excellence in scholastic achievement.
