The Gimlet organization was founded as a booster club for Purdue varsity athletics and composes the nucleus of the cheering section. Gimlet is a Greek leadership honorary whose membership is comprised of enthusiastic students within the fraternity and sorority community that have proven themselves to be leaders in both their fraternity or sorority, and through campus involvement. Membership in Gimlet is not only a chance for recognition of these leadership abilities, but is also an opportunity to create camaraderie among other talented individuals with dynamic personalities. Gimlet is one of the oldest organizations on Purdue's campus dating its inception in 1922. Most often, you can find Gimlets standing by the north end zone on Saturdays in the fall either doing push-ups when the Boilermakers score, or ringing the Victory Bell after a B1G victory.
