The GEARE Student Chapter was founded in spring of 2006. Members of the Purdue Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education began the student organization under the guidance of Eckhard Groll, Jerry Matthews, and Dan Hirleman. In Fall 2006, the Purdue GEARE student chapter organized the first annual Global Opportunities Fair for global companies and students interested in work abroad.The GEARE Student Chapter, as well as the number of events it offers, is growing! Along with the annual Global Opportunities Fair held in the fall semester, the Student Chapter is hosting many social networking events for it’s members to learn about each other’s experience and to learn more about the countries they are about to live in.If you are interested in learning more or applying to the GEARE program, more information can be found on the Office of Professional Practice website: https://www.opp.purdue.edu/our-programs/GEARE
