Armored Combat - Chainmail and other protective gear worn while using wooden weapons including shields, spears, swords, axes, and more. Loaner gear is available. Rapier Combat - Medieval version of fencing and involves rapiers, a thicker/heavier fencing sword that's dulled at the end) **It is recommended to bring your own fencing mask if you own one, so the mask is more close-fitting and therefore safer to fight Combat practice (heavy & rapier) is in the Purdue Armory (812 3rd St, West Lafayette, IN 47907) every Wednesday from 8-10pm. Typically occurs in rooms in Stewart Center. Arts & Science - Instructed arts from varying cultures during the Medieval era that range from calligraphy to weaving and leatherworking. Typically, meetings are held in Lilly Hall. The Medieval Society is closely associated with the local branch of the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA), and thanks to their help we have an environment that is ideal for students to learn and explore their interest in various activities from the Middle Ages.
