Students of Planned Parenthood Generation Action, at Purdue University exist to educate the campus and broader Greater-Lafayette community about reproductive health and rights, to transform this increased awareness into reproductive justice activism on campus. This club will also serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts. Students of Planned Parenthood Generation Action, at Purdue University believe in the fundamental right of every individual regardless of their intersectional identities, to manage their own fertility. PPGen supports comprehensive access to reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect a person’s essential privacy and rights; PPGen advocates for public policies that ensure these rights and access to such services; PPGen affirms access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance theunderstanding of the human reproductive body. What distinguishes PPGen from other like minded clubs on campus is that it is more focused on reproductive sexual health, rather than the similar issues of narrowing in on providing menstrual care products to the community or a broader look at female oppression around the world. PPGen will draw from the work of The Period Project and FACT to bring forward further non-redundant education and campus outreach surrounding reproductive health issues and politics.
