Students for Cultivating Change - Purdue Agriculture
Political & Advocacy
CCPA’s mission is to cultivate a safe and empowering space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) students in Purdue University’s College of Agriculture (COA) by seamlessly integrating professional opportunities, social connections, and advocacy. Through tailored events and collaborations, we aim to provide a dynamic environment that fosters personal and professional growth. Our focus includes highlighting LGBTQ+ agriculturalists, building resources for professional self-advocacy, and creating safe community spaces. We actively address the intersectionality of identity and commit to collaboration within and across community groups. Moreover, we celebrate the rich tapestry of diverse identities within the queer community, drawing inspiration from historical contributions. Our mission is rooted in education, striving to increase awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ+ experience. By embracing these principles, we aspire to empower LGBTQ+ students within the COA, ensuring they confidently navigate academic and professional landscapes, ultimately creating a vibrant and supportive community for success.
