The mission of the Veterinary Lab Animal Club at Purdue University (aka, Purdue Student ASLAP Chapter) is to provide learning opportunities, experiences, and resources on the field of laboratory animal medicine beyond the classroom. Through club activities, participating members are expected to gain at least the following:An understanding of the scientific goals, clinical responsibilities, and role of the laboratory animal veterinarian in advancing healthcare for animals and humansAn appreciation of the medical care and welfare of animals used in researchThe fundamental laboratory and clinical skills used in the field Why join VLACLearn about a lucrative field that is instrumental to the advancement of science and medicine for humans and animals through lectures and activities not offered by the core DVM curriculum at Purdue UniversityNetwork with laboratory animal veterinarians and scientists, gain valuable mentorship, and develop your experiences and résuméLearn about translational research and how veterinarians are integral to itBecome an officer.
