Women of Color in Healthcare Association
Political & Advocacy
The Women of Color in Healthcare Association, abbreviated WCHA, serves to foster an environment conducive to the upbringing of rising healthcare professionals, specifically, but not limited to, those who are minority women or possess marginalized backgrounds from low-income, underserved communities. WCHA exists to bridge the gap between the lack of ethnic diversity in current healthcare positions and those in pursuit of said positions, to discuss and act on current issues in healthcare policies, and to increase awareness concerning various health topics.WCHA believes in the fundamental right of every person to manage their state of health, fertility, and pursuit of any healthcare career. WCHA includes people of all genders and works hard to relay opportunities for all men, women and nonbinary people. WCHA supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary healthcare services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy of each person; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of sexual and reproductive health.
