Founded in 1996, the African Students Association at the University of Michigan strives to create a comfortable atmosphere where those interested in learning about the continent and issues and experiences of Africans can meet and converse. ASA also serves as a cultural group that is intended to portray the African continent in various ways to different groups of people.
