Bright Financial Futures (BFF) was established with the mission of expanding the access to financial literacy education in the Ann Arbor community. BFF fosters this mission by offering a free program for elementary, middle, and high school-aged economically disadvantaged students that teaches the fundamental principles of financial literacy, such as economics, budgeting, investing, debt management, and entrepreneurship. BFF presents an opportunity for students of all backgrounds to teach and improve their own understanding of financial literacy. We achieve this through utilizing interactive and gamified lesson plans to connect with the students of our partner organizations. Our bi-weekly in-person sessions in partnership with local social impact organizations are led by BFF team members. Education sessions emphasize establishing a collaborative environment through small student-to-instructor ratios and engaging lessons. Club-wide meetings will occur 1 to 2 times a month. In addition, club members will have the opportunity to teach hour-long biweekly in-person sessions at one of our partner sites.
