College Mentors for Kids at Michigan has partnered with Mitchell Elementary so once a week students in grades 1-5 come to Michigan to experience the resources on our campus. Each buddy is paired up with a college mentor, helping to build fundamental skills for both the mentor and the buddy, such as leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. A few examples of the activities we did last year include touring the law library, learning Judo from a club on campus, and hearing from panels of students in different fields.
