Color coded is a student organization, created by black students at the University of Michigan, dedicated to providing community, experience, and learning opportunities to black students, as well as other marginalized students in the coding degree field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Science). Our E-board is made up of 13 students who are leaders across campus. Having experience in what it feels like to be minorities in code, we have all committed to a joint effort to reduce the inequitable hardships found in the larger coding community. Our E-board is broken into 3 branches: Professional Development, Academic Success, and Executive Affairs. This allows us to host a multitude of events from resume workshops, to internship panels, to social gatherings. Our plan is to help develop the University of Michigan minority community by providing adequate resources, professional exposure, and community building across campus.
