Mock Trial at UC Davis is a competitive collegiate mock trial program participating in American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) competitions. Through engagement in trial simulations against other programs, members develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.

Mock Trial is a competitive activity that provides students with the opportunity to learn about advocacy skills, legal processes, courtroom procedure and techniques. Each year, students receive a hypothetical case and construct both the plaintiff's/prosecution's and defendant's side of the case, and compete against other colleges and universities' teams in a simulation of a real-life trial. Mock Trial is a great opportunity for individuals to demonstrate and refine public speaking, analytical, and acting skills.

The competitive season lasts from Fall Quarter to early Spring Quarter. Our meetings are held Monday - Thursday from 8-10 PM, in addition to occasional weekend events. Members of the program have the opportunity to compete across the country in invitational, regional, and national tournaments.

All UC Davis students may apply to join our program. Our program consists of individuals from a variety of backgrounds and majors. We accept applicants through an official audition process that begins in the Fall Quarter of each year. To audition, interested applicants are encouraged to attend Info Nights towards the beginning of Fall Quarter. Follow our social media for more details.
