The initiative to establish FLUX (Figma Learning for UX) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor stems from a recognition of the evolving landscape in design education and the growing importance of proficiency in design tools such as Figma. Our primary objective is to address the existing gap in practical Figma skills among students by providing a platform for hands-on learning and engagement.FLUX aims to serve as a catalyst for enhancing students' preparedness for careers in UX and related fields by offering workshops, guest lectures, and interactive sessions focused on Figma and its applications in design. Given the diverse academic backgrounds of our student body, many may not have had exposure to the latest design tools crucial for success in contemporary industries. By bridging this gap, FLUX endeavors to empower students across disciplines to develop essential skills in design and technology, thereby augmenting their professional readiness and competitiveness. In alignment with the University of Michigan's commitment to holistic education and innovation, FLUX seeks to become a cornerstone student organization for Figma proficiency, catering to the needs of current and future students alike. Through collaborative learning experiences and community building, FLUX endeavors to foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within the university ecosystem. In short, FLUX aims for students to have fun, share with their peers and learn hard skills for their career advancement.
