The Food Recovery Network at the University of Michigan is an organization dedicated to fighting food waste, food insecurity, and hunger in the Ann Arbor region. To do so, students recover surplus food from campus dining halls and local farms and donates it to the food bank Food Gatherers and the university food pantry Maize & Blue Cupboard. FRN is also committed to raising awareness about the issues of community hunger and food waste through hands-on opportunities and educational outreach. The Food Recovery Network at the University of Michigan is part of an extensive network of FRN chapters that exist at a number of college campuses nationwide.
