Michigan Equity Research Club, also known as MERC, is a highly selective undergraduate student organization at the University of Michigan focused on building the technical and behavioral competence of our members to succeed in the world of finance. Membership entails the mandatory attendance of bi-weekly meetings for new members (analysts). Throughout these analyst meetings, new members will learn the essential knowledge to succeed in finance such as accounting basics and steps of equity valuations. In the second weekly meeting, all members of the club build upon what was taught in the analyst session and go in depth into accounding and valuation techniques. After one semester in the club, analysts are promoted to associates or can apply for a role on the executive board.  MERC offers a comprehensive opportunity for any student interested in equity research positions in the world of finance.
