Political & Advocacy
Our organization is composed of innovative and dedicated students who strive to promote foreign policy solutions through non-partisan research. Since its inception, MFPC's primary goals are to teach our members the empirical social science research process and to offer opportunities for professional development in the realm of diplomacy. Each semester, members produce written research papers on a variety of evolving issues in world politics today. Weekly club meetings are focused on developing writing skills, as well as discussing and productively debating relevant topics in international affairs. Each semester we work with real foreign policy think-tank mentors and professionals in the political space to provide guidance for our membership. At the end of each semester, our members present their findings at the Michigan Foreign Policy Symposium, where seasoned panelists speak on a particular topic as well, and members' pieces are published in the newest volume/issue of the Michigan Foreign Policy Review.
