A career in sport is a dream for many, but few fulfill this aspiration and thrive in the industry. Although the University of Michigan offers a premiere sport management program alongside an elite athletic department, it is no exception to the lack of racial diversity that stains sport business. Racial minority students seeking careers in sport business often find themselves marginalized, which places these students at a disadvantage when navigating their academic and professional careers. We, the members of the Michigan SBIC are committed to enhancing the experiences of students seeking a career in sports who identify as a racial minority through building community.
