The Public Health Student Assembly (PHSA) is the University of Michigan School of Public Health (SPH) student government. Our primary goal is to foster relations between the various school departments, support SPH students, and assist student organizations in hosting school-wide events. PHSA is a liaison between the student body and the school's administration.Specific responsibilities of PHSA include:Develop and maintain a strong working relationship between the PHSA and the School of Public Health to increase coordination on student events and SPH's professional and emotional resources.Increase PHSA's internal advocacy role at SPH by [1] actively seeking and gathering input from SPH students, [2] synthesizing and providing information to the appropriate administration or body, and [3] following up to ensure due processing and attentionSupport SPH student organizations through funding, marketing, communication, and collaborations.Ensure effective communication between graduate programs, undergraduate programs, research mentors, and professors in SPH to foster an inclusive and interconnected community, uplifting the great work of each and gaining insights from one another.Foster connections between SPH and other U-M programs to promote interdisciplinary events, learning, and collaboration between programs with similar interests and objectives.Enhance and maintain sustainable partnerships between PHSA and the greater Ann Arborcommunity through equitable engagement, communication, and volunteer/service practices.
