Political & Advocacy
"Spread the Word to End the Word" Special Olympics College at the University of Michigan is an organization that advocates for people with cognitive and physical disabilities in the greater Ann Arbor area. Our mission is to provide a fun and inclusive environment for our athletes through our many sport activities and events. We offer our athletes the opportunity to play flag football, dance, soccer, and basketball. SO College's student volunteers organize practices for athletes of all ages and abilities in each sport. SO College play UNIFIED. This means that both our athletes and volunteers are able to compete in our practices and events against other universities in our organized regional, state, and national tournaments. SO College at UofM partners with Special Olympics Michigan to proudly participate in an annual flag football game against Michigan State University, along with many other tournaments (for each of our sports) with universities in the Midwest region including Adrian College, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Notre Dame, and more! We welcome everyone to join our mission at SO College at UofM!Please contact us using our social media and email below if you are interested in joining or becoming a student volunteer!
