Volunteers Around the World (VAW) is a national organization that empowers members to collaborate with community partners to improve health outcomes both abroad and locally. In countries abroad, Interns work directly with doctors to help implement and run primary medical clinics in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), addressing critical healthcare needs. Locally, volunteers engage in fundraising and health promotion activities, working with organizations like CAN (Community Action Network) and Big Brothers Big Sisters to make a meaningful impact in Ypsilanti schools and communities. Our volunteers help do health education presentations and seminars all around the Ypsilanti area. This unique combination of global and local efforts equips members with valuable hands-on experience in healthcare and community service, fostering a deeper understanding of diverse health challenges and solutions.
