WWKC (the club formerly known as RSCK) was created to offer an inclusive, safe, non-competitive environment for students and community members passionate or curious about whitewater kayaking. We provide our members with the knowledge and tools necessary to safely enjoy the sport. Anyone is welcome, whatever your skill/experience level. Other water sport enthusiasts (canoe, SUP, etc.) are welcome to join too, but our instruction experience and gear are primarily focused on whitewater kayaking.While whitewater kayaking is our primary focus, we also offer other nature-related activities (like camping road trips and kayak sledding) depending on member interest/availability and weather.WWKC is a voluntary organization administered by the University of Michigan. Non-student members are welcome; however, the club must maintain at least 50% student membership to be a UM club sport. Because of university policy, we are not allowed to have non-student participants under the age of 18.We are working to update our information on Maize Pages. Please disregard the Meeting information within the constitutions; we do not currently meet at NCRB pool. We will send out information on weekly kayaking sessions, weekend trips and winter pool sessions at the start of the next semester. We usually don't offer any sessions or trips during the summer, but if you're hoping to kayak and looking for a group to join, Michigan Adventure Paddlers is a great option (and we can also send you other resources if you'd like)If you'd like to participate in club activities please join through Maize Pages and/or reach out to Jon (jdlowry@umich.edu) and Liem (liem@umich.edu). They're also happy to answer any questions if you're curious about the club or whitewater kayaking.
