Active Minds is a national non-profit that seeks to initiate conversations about mental health, increase awareness about mental illness, and use the student voice to radically change the language surrounding and attitudes towards mental health through research, advocacy, and education. The Emory chapter of this organization shares these same missions to educate the student body about mental health, discourage the stigmas associated with mental illness, and encourage students to use the resources available and seek help when necessary by working with administration and CAPS to improve resources, offering mental health trainings, having educational and open discussions about mental health topics, and hosting de-stressing events.
