As Black student-athletes on a predominately white campus (PWI), we uphold not only our academics and athletics but also our identities. While some can relate to being a minority or student-athlete, very few meet at this intersection, which is why we have come together to form the Emory Black Student Athlete Group. We come with the mission to foster a stronger black student-athlete community, advocate for one another, and celebrate our black identity at a PWI. Our objectives include but aren’t limited to: boosting school spirit and attendance at sports events, giving back to the greater Emory and Atlanta communities, and promoting further development of athletes on and off the floor.
