Emory Jams is dedicated to hosting weekly live jam music events played by students and for students. Our primary goal is to create a community of open-minded musicians dedicated to improvisational music and giving back in the form
of musicianship. We welcome musicians of all skill levels and genres alike!
This organization will host:
1) Weekly Themed Jam Sessions - The primary recurring event is focused on exposing Emory students to the talented musicians and diverse genres of our study body class. Each week, a musical theme will be picked, and music provided
ahead of time electronically. Musicians are then given free agency to play their hearts out on any of the tunes available for approximately 2 hours. All skill levels are accepted, and members are encouraged to join the House Band on stage, or even bring their
own bands to jam out!
2) Jams of Service - On select weeks, this organization will hold themed jams at the local hospitals and underserved communities of Atlanta. It is a priority of our musical community that we give back and show the love of music to
those who need it most.
3) Dynamic Jam Events - These events will change based on each week, and seek to spread access to jam music for Emory and the surround Atlanta area. These events may include, but are not limited to improvisational education workshops,
guest speakers, jam fundraisers, traveling jams to local jazz clubs, and more. This division of the club will be dynamic, and devoted to responding to the needs and interest of the Emory Jams members!
