Many international and domestic schools are on the brinks of closure daily, bringing students and staff undeserved stress and the lack of a fundamental primary education. External stressors, especially those introduced early on in life, have been proven to negatively impact a child’s cognitive development. Hence, LTE at Emory will strive to use its platform daily to help mitigate these threats many children face and inspire them to be a beacon of hope for a brighter and more promising future. Specifically, LTE at Emory will act with three goals in mind: (1) recruit more Emory students for LTE's ongoing virtual mentorship program titled "FLITE" (supporting students in Ghana, Mexico, and Morocco), (2) host honest academic discussions on the educational disparities plaguing underserved communities abroad, and (3) fundraise for primary schools that LTE has partnered with in Ghana, Mexico, Morocco, and the United States.
