Black Men in White Coats (BMWC) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science seeks to increase the number of black men in the field of medicine through exposure, inspiration, and mentoring. BMWC is committed to supporting current and future black men medical students, addressing the needs of underserved communities, and increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians. BMWC chapters, based at medical schools throughout the nation implement our programs and activities locally. BMWC programs are designed to increase black men's and boys’ awareness to the field of medicine by recruiting, advising, and providing guidance.
