Political & Advocacy
FEMPOC is a newly formed club at Northeastern University dedicated to advocating for gender equality and the rights of people of color, with a specific focus on addressing intersectional issues of race and gender. Our mission is to strive for social justice and policy changes that benefit marginalized communities, particularly women of color. Through political activism, community engagement, and awareness-raising events, FEMPOC aims to foster a more inclusive and equitable campus environment by addressing systemic inequalities faced by people of color in political, social, and economic spheres.  We believe our leadership category is political action due to our commitment to driving systemic change through advocacy and policy reform. Our activities include organizing campaigns, collaborating with other student organizations and community groups, and engaging in direct action to influence university policies and broader legislative measures. We focus on elevating the voices of marginalized communities and ensuring that their concerns are addressed in decision-making processes. By raising awareness and mobilizing our members, we aim to create lasting impact and progress toward a more just and equitable society. FEMPOC is a safe and supportive space for all people of color, including those who do not identify as women. We are dedicated to inclusivity and aim to ensure that all voices are heard and respected within our community.
