Political & Advocacy
The mission of Medical Brigades is to work with licensed medical professionals and community health workers to provide comprehensive health services in rural communities with limited access to healthcare. Our current partners are Greece, Honduras, Ghana, and Panama where Medical Brigade volunteers have the opportunity to shadow licensed doctors in medical consultations and assist in a pharmacy under the direction of licensed pharmacists. Members also get the opportunity to develop interpersonal connections by triaging patients and taking vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate etc.). Our Chapter's focus is to raise funds and supplies needed for Northeastern students to engage with communities abroad, while also gaining valuable insight into global development and building sustainable solutions abroad.
