Latino America Unida, Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. is a Latino-orientated fraternity that champions brotherhood, scholarship, and service. It was founded on December 10, 1985, at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Lambda Alpha Upsilon has seven metas, or goals, of the fraternity:1. To unite the Latino community2. To provide a strong and solid base for Latino culture3. To support each other personally and academically4. To establish a network of professionals5. To expand the brotherhood to an international level6. To increase the number of Latinos in higher education7. To enrich our environment with Latino pride and spirit.LAU is the first Latino-oriented fraternity at Northeastern University and one of Massachusetts's only active Latino-oriented fraternities. LAU strives to perpetuate its culture at the University of Buffalo and beyond through community service, educational, and entertaining functions.
