The Criminal Justice Society (CJS) is a student organization at the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Law (COL) created to pursue, but is not limited to, the following aims: (a) foster a nurturing community of students passionate about criminal law, whether those passions lie in prosecutorial or defense-oriented careers; (b) promote a respectful environment where students may freely discuss the criminal justice system; (c) educate students about the opportunities, advantages, inadequacies, and realities of various careers in criminal law; (d) teach students the skills necessary to succeed as criminal justice advocates; (e) generate a long-term community of MSU COL alumni committed to careers in criminal law; and (f) help integrate current students and alumni into a network of employers who are looking to hire advocates by way of speaker events, collaborations with other MSU COL and criminal justice adjacent organizations, and the like.
